Hilly landscape at dawn

About Re//Parent

The name says it all. Re//Parent is about reparenting ourselves, healing our own inner landscape, understanding our own patterns, and doing our own work, so we can show up as better parents to our kids. It's about doing it again, but differently. Re-learning. Re-wiring. Re-connecting. The "//" represents the relationship at the heart of all of this, the one between parent and child. That space between the two is where everything happens. And that's exactly where this work lives.

Re//Parent exists because parenting is the hardest thing most of us will ever do, and almost none of us were taught how.

This is a space for parents who are trying. Who love their kids deeply and still find themselves reacting in ways they don't like. Who are carrying a lot, often alone, and are ready to feel supported. Re//Parent was built for you, not to fix you, but to walk alongside you.

About Julie

I have been working with children my entire life. I just didn't always have a name for what I was doing.

It started when I was six years old, when my sister was born and I became, in so many quiet ways, a steady presence for her. It continued through years of babysitting neighborhood kids, working in childcare at an athletic club, and eventually spending my twenties and into my thirties as a nanny for multiple families across Seattle.

Those families were mostly first-time parents. They were doing their best and figuring it out in real time, and they leaned on me. Not just for childcare, but for guidance. Is this normal? What do I do when she won't stop crying? How do I handle this? I didn't know it then, but I was already doing parent coaching. I was teaching, steadying, and supporting, and it came naturally.

I always knew I wanted to build a career centered around children and families. I applied to graduate school in 2011 with exactly that intention. And then life happened, the way it does, and that path got set aside.

But here I am.

Now, as a single mother of two, with decades of lived experience, years of my own deep personal work, and formal training through the Jai Institute for Parenting, I am finally doing the work I was always moving toward. Re//Parent isn't a pivot. It's a homecoming.

I also work as a real estate agent in the Seattle area. I share that not because it defines this work, but because it's part of who I am, someone who shows up fully in multiple areas of life, who understands what it means to juggle real responsibilities while trying to be present for your kids.

I know what it feels like to carry a lot while trying to show up steadily. I know what it feels like to want to do better and not always know how. And I know, from a lifetime of being in rooms with parents and children, that when a parent feels supported, everything at home begins to shift.

That's why I'm here. And I'm so glad you found your way here, too.

Training & Background

I am currently completing my parent coach certification through the Jai Institute for Parenting, where the focus is on nervous system regulation, attachment, connection, and developmentally respectful support.

I have also been accepted into Seattle University's Clinical Mental Health Counseling master's program, beginning Fall 2026, where I will continue my education toward becoming a licensed therapist.

Re//Parent provides parent coaching and educational support only. I do not offer therapy, diagnosis, or clinical treatment, and I will always be transparent with you about that distinction.

My Approach

This work is parent-centric. I believe that true change in families begins with the adult, not because children are the problem, but because parents are the most consistent source of steadiness in a child's life.

My approach draws from attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and emotional intelligence. Sessions are warm, attuned, and tailored to you. We go at your pace. We go where you need to go.

The goal is not perfection. It's presence.

A Note on Scope

Re//Parent provides parent coaching and educational support only. This work is not therapy and does not include diagnosis, clinical treatment, or legal guidance. If at any point therapy becomes the right next step, I will support and encourage that transition, and help you find the right fit.

Ready to take the first step?

You don't have to have it all figured out. You just have to be willing to begin.
